Carter's Steak & Seafood
About This Spot
Walking into Carter's Steak & Seafood in Inman, you’re welcomed by a sense of familiar comfort—the kind of place where the rhythms of daily life slow just enough to let you settle in and savor the moment. The atmosphere here strikes a balance between a longtime neighborhood haunt and a quietly refined dining spot, where the hum of friendly conversation blends easily with the warm, inviting lighting. It’s neither rushed nor ostentatious; instead, it offers a reassuring pace, encouraging you to relax and enjoy the company you’ve come with, or soak in the casual hum of the room if you’re dining solo.
At Carter’s, the menu feels like a well-loved, thoughtfully curated chapter of a shared story—a place where seafood and steak are not just choices but promises of satisfying, honest flavors. Imagine biting into a perfectly seared ribeye with just the right amount of char, or savoring oysters with a classic touch, each dish arriving with a sense of homegrown care rather than showmanship. The appetizers and sides, whether it’s the crisply battered onion rings or the loaded cheese fries, carry a warmth and generosity that invite you to linger over every bite.
The staff play a quiet yet essential role in shaping the experience here. Their familiarity with longtime guests and new visitors alike adds a personal layer to each visit. Whether it’s a friendly nod from the bartender or a server who remembers your preferences, there’s a feeling that you matter beyond just being a name on a reservation list.
Even amidst the quiet buzz of weekend evenings, Carter’s keeps a welcoming openness—no need to dress up or plan extravagantly, just bring your appetite for good food and easygoing conversation. It’s the kind of place where the little moments—sharing a plate of stuffed mushrooms, nursing a cold draft beer, or enjoying a comforting slice of peanut butter pie—build into an unspoken ritual of local tradition and connection.

Stopped by to get a drink and appetizer at the bar. The bartender Kayce was great as usual. Had the shrimp Rockefeller, which is fantastic. Definitely a go to app. We will keep going back.

Always a good place for a hot meal and good service, they do a good job getting steaks right. If you want rare steak 99.9% of the time they don't mess up. Same with asking for extra crispy fries. The appetizers are delicious. I definitely recommend potato skins with chives. They are generous with the bacon and cheese. I'm not a huge desert person, but I've gotten a couple delicious ones here. Great for a glass of wine or a beer as well, I haven't experimented with the fully stocked bar, but I'd say they would probably not have any issues mixing something delicious, never disappointed.

Great atmosphere and very clean. Our server Wendy was super friendly. We started out withe the onion rings which we got with ranch and honey mustard. They were crunchy with a very light batter which I liked. My wife got the fish sandwich that was very good and too much for her to finish. I got the 12oz Ribeye with the loaded baked potatoes and steamed broccoli. The steak was a little under seasoned for me but a little salt and pepper fixed that. I ordered it medium rare and the cook got that perfect. All in all It was a good meal and a good price. I would recommend this place to everyone. They have a nice bar with a couple TVs but it's not a sports bar. They also had a pretty good selection at the bar.

We went last night. They also have a wall of specials besides the regular menu. B and I got the chicken and sausage pasta. It was delicious it came with a roll. Boo got the flounder he ate all of it. He loves the oyster rock. I don't like them. I can't eat them or I will get sick. He didn't order any tonight. It was easy in and out. We went around 830 with no crowd. We eat here a lot. It's a mom-and-pop restaurant in the area.

Friendly and helpful waitstaff, great specials from which to choose, cakes made on-site and delicious. Plenty of parking, kid friendly, wheelchair accessible, go early because it was packed by 6 p.m.

Great Customer service! Good Food. Came to Carters today to celebrate my nephew going into middle school. We had a party of 4 and we all ordered a variation of steak. I ordered a ribeye medium rare. It came out and I cut into it I would say it was definitely closer to medium well, and a tad tougher than a medium rare steak is or a medium for that matter. However, I’ve never sent a steak back before in my life till today. They were very accommodating and understanding and brought out another steak that was amazing. So I am very sure it was just that cut of steak that was like that I had beforehand. I appreciate the politeness of them so much. I had felt terrible for sending my steak back but I’m very glad I did. I was expecting maybe an attitude or even a bit of a scoff. I didn’t receive that. The staff there seem amazing. They even offered me a dessert on the house for the inconvenience. My nephew received that and said “ THE KEY LIME THERE IS AMAZING! “. Thank you Carter’s Staff for making my night.
